Comparative Ophthalmology Internship - Colorado State University

The Ophthalmology Service at Colorado State University is offering a 1-year Ophthalmology Internship program beginning July 15th, 2017. The 90% to 95% clinical duty internship will provide extensive experience in clinical ophthalmology. The ophthalmology intern will be dedicated to the ophthalmology service and will be directly supervised by the ophthalmology faculty. Expectations of the Ophthalmology Intern include but are not limited to the following:

Primary responsibility for in-house consults

Primary receiving of ophthalmology cases when assigned

Back-up ophthalmology emergency duty when scheduled

Assist with phone consultations as needed

Conduct case rounds when assigned

Supervise/teach fourth year veterinary students on clinics

Supervise/teach third year and fourth year student ophthalmology laboratories

Conduct fourth year veterinary student orientation when assigned

Attend Ophthalmology Journal Club and Pathology Rounds

The Ophthalmology Intern will be strongly encouraged to complete a research project.

     Application requirement:
      1. Graduate of AVMA accredited veterinary school
      2. 1 year rotating internship or at least 3 years of veterinary practice
