Dr. Tony Basher

Last weekend the ACVO lost a beloved colleague. Tony Basher died in a car crash in Arizona. Tony was a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologist (1996), but more importantly, he was a gentle individual who represented the best in our profession being well liked by his clients, referring veterinarians, and friends; and he worked to support animal rescue efforts. Tony had most recently practiced in San Diego, California, and he was one of the ACVO members who had selflessly helped a fellow Diplomate sustain her practice in her battle with breast cancer. Details of his memorial service and funeral are still being worked out, and we will forward more as the details become clear. His parents reside in England so distances are an issue. Please keep them and the rest of his family and close friends in your thoughts and prayers. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

A Memorial Service for Dr Anthony Basher was held on Sunday, December 2nd at 1:00 pm at the Del Mar Country Club, Racho Santa Fe, CA

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the two causes that Tony passionately supported.
