Birmingham, historically known as The Magic City from its steel industry, has experienced a remarkable revitalization through economic growth in its Medical Community (UAB Major Medical and Research Center and UAB Teaching Hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center, Bio-tech Companies), Business and Corporate Development Community (Fortune 500 Companies, Mercedes), and the Banking and Finance Community. Known also now as The Diverse City, Birmingham provides many opportunities for the Arts & Culture, many upscale Lifestyle Centers with high-end stores and renowned restaurants and good old Southern Hospitality. Birmingham and its surrounding suburbs and communities are great places to live, work and play. Great climate, four seasons. Lots of outdoor recreation. Scenic rivers, large clean lakes and forested mountains are close by and Alabama’s Gulf Coast known as the Emerald Coast is only 4 hours away.
